Bunzl Update: Novel Coronavirus (CoVID-19)

Dear Valued Customer,

These are unprecedented times. The impact of Novel Coronavirus (CoVID-19) continues to evolve faster than any of us can keep up with.

Our number one priority as a business right now is to ensure that we continue providing essential products and services to our customers operating in Hospitals, Aged Care, Pathology, Emergency Services and Supermarkets. To do this, we have had to take some difficult short-term decisions that have impacted some of our other customers, like yourself.

Following the Government’s announcement last Sunday, we took a precautionary measure to suspend accounts in those sectors most impacted. This was done to ensure we did not deliver to businesses that had been forced to close. We appreciate this has posed a challenge for some businesses, but it was necessary while we worked to find a solution.

We now have a more supportive solution for you and your business. We hope below options assist you in managing the challenges you face:

For those customers who have stopped trading -

  • If you are in the fortunate position that you have cash in the bank – we will apply a 10% discount for all on-time payments and a 10% discount on any amounts currently overdue if they are paid by 31 March; or
  • If you are not able to pay your account right now – we will put all amounts owing on hold for 90 days.

For customers who are still trading, for example you are offering take away or delivery, 2 options -

  • Pay amounts owing by the due date, take a 10% discount and continue to trade on account (there will likely be a reduced credit limit and payment will be on 14-day terms). Overdue amounts must be paid before new orders will be accepted.
  • Put amounts owing on hold for 90 days and pay for new orders using credit card at time of order.

We hope these options provide some relief to you in these challenging times. Please contact your Account Manager, Customer Service or our Accounts Receivable team to discuss your options.

We are in unchartered waters. Thank you for your understanding in these challenging times and please stay safe.

Regards,

Bunzl Australia and New Zealand
